April 2015 saw the introduction of the mandatory Care Certificate (replacing the Common Induction Standards) for Health & Social Care in England as a direct outcome from The Cavendish Review of 2013 which sought to address the serious failures in healthcare provision detailed in the Francis Enquiry earlier the same year.
Designed primarily for new inexperienced care staff in mind, the CQC hold the Care Certificate as the benchmark for staff induction. They also measure the skills of all staff against the fifteen standards laid out in the Care Certificate framework.
Care-FULLYTRAINED offers two routes for you to comply with this legal requirement to induct new carers: Either Option 1, a condensed 5-day training programme where our experienced healthcare trainers deliver all the required theoretical training, leaving you as the Employer to fulfil the assessment part of the Care Certificate in your workplace (but we will provide you with the documentation to record this), or Option 2 where we provide both the theoretical training and the practical assessment (using our experienced Assessors) over a timescale decided by you. All learning acquired through the Care Certificate can be cross referenced to future QCF qualifications.
The Care Certificate Standards are as follows:
- Understand Your Role
- Your Personal Development
- Duty of Care
- Equality and Diversity
- Work in a Person Centred Way
- Communication
- Privacy and Dignity
- Fluids and Nutrition
- Awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disabilities
- Safeguarding Adults
- Safeguarding Children
- Basic Life Support
- Health and Safety
- Handling Information
- Infection Prevention and Control
Group sessions 4 people minimum are £249 per person
